The Core of My Being

A little poem that I wrote to get this lovely blog started! I've thought a lot this week about what it means to be me, what it means to have self esteem, self-confidence, self-trust, and how I can show myself love. It can be so much harder to love ourselves the way we love our family, friends, and significant others sometimes, but it's so necessary to invest much of our love and positive energy into ourselves so we can be vibrant and present. This is the only way we can fully help and love others.

Working on some other posts, medical, spiritual, about life, etc.- can't wait to share :)

The Core of My Being

Who Am I? Take away all of my relationships, strip me bare, down to the very core of my being. Take away my identity as a student, a friend, a lover, a yogi, a sister, a daughter, and who am I?

I am beauty. I am the embodiment of the Vis Medicatrix Naturae, a unique expression of the life force of the universe, my soul's representation of the greatest spirit there is.

A lover to myself, growing through Eros, and a creator of the arts.

I am a dreamer.

I am powerful- I hold power in my heart, which, with its dependability has beaten every second of every minute of every hour of ever day for 24 years through trials and struggles. I am that strength. I am that power.

I hold the unique place in my heart where the strong, courageous masculine meets the grounded, protective feminine.

I am a spirit of this great earth and share the energy of the earth with every living being on and in and above her land.

I am joyful- a sweet, kind, patient soul.

I am a healer.

I am love.

I am changing. I am on a journey.

I am love.
